Welcome. I'm Brian Mathews and I'm an Associate Dean @ Virginia Tech.
I've also worked at UC Santa Barbara, Georgia Tech, and the George Washington University.

This site is being rebuilt from scratch—so pardon the minimalism.
Hopefully I'll have something new up by the end of July.
It's very low on my list of priorities.

Just a quick note. Thanks to everyone for all the invites to talk at various
conferences and other meetings. I'm not currently taking on any new speaking engagements
or projects. There are lots of exciting things emerging at Virginia Tech and that's where my focus
needs to be over the next year. I will be giving a talk on entrepreneurialism at
ALA's Virtual Conference in July. And I hope to present at ARL's Assessment Conference (Oct 2012)
and at ACRL 2013. Besides that though... I plan to spend as much time in Blacksburg as I possibly can.
