Virginia Tech Library Learning Habitat – a renovation/revival
I’m leading the library’s current renovation efforts. It’s a chance to reimagine what the library needs to become and to plot the path for getting there. My blog will likely cover this process and I’ll eventually write a whitepaper summing up the experience.
“Too much assessment, not enough innovation”
I will be presenting a paper at ARL’s Assessment Conference in October that compares assessment with R&D frameworks. I argue that we need both incremental improvements, as well as exploration and experimentation with new models and services.
Book #2 – Twenty Essential Qualities of an Inspiring Library
This book has been in the works for a while now—and it will probably remain that way. I hope to return to working on it in 2013. It builds upon my previous book, but goes into a philosophical and molecular level into what libraries are all about.
